First post of 2020

So old man Lenin need someone to fix the top of the spire due to damage during a storm. The cross was crooked or some such.  He put the word out.  Some workman dude is like "fuck it, I can do it." So he climbs the interior to the highest window which is just at the bas or the spire. Climbs out,  and shimmies up the tapered part until he runs into the ball at the top, which looks small from the ground but is quite large in person. So he takes a rope and lassos the cross and just trusts that it will hold and climbs up, sits on the ball and fixes it.  Comes down, Lenin is almost happy, he wants to reward the man but how, money seems to easy, give him a job, fuck that.  HE GIVES THE MAN A CUP with Lenin's likeness or symbol on it and says anywhere you go in the city you drink for free.  This was cool with he dude.  But eventually he lost the cup. Of course he did.  So he tattoos the symbol onto his neck and taps his neck to the bartenders.  And now, in Russia, if you want to go drinking with your friends you make this gesture; flicking the side of your neck with your middle finger.

It's slightly lest than a year since we went to Scandinavia and the Baltics.  It takes a long time to scan stuff do to not wanting to do it and general laziness.  Can you relate to that?  Have you ever had a time in your life you didn't want to do something so you didn't do it?

St. Peter & Paul's Cathedral in St. Petersburg, RUSSIA.  The Cathedral is architecturally famous yet it is the detailed stories about it's life that is of interest to me.  Yes, it's old and has survived sieges and rulers but have you heard about the spire? (the tall, point thing with the cross on top)
